Tips & Trends
Often we have customers come in unsure which way to go when selecting statement finishes for their bathroom. A tiled feature wall is a cost effective way to make a statement and add value. Everyone has different preferences and that’s why there are so many options to choose from. At Life’sTiles, we can offer design advice to guide you if you need help to make the final decision.
When selecting a colour…
When choosing a tile for a bathroom feature wall consider a contrasting colour to the other tiles in your bathroom. Your feature tile can be the same size as the wall but a different color. Or contrast this with a slightly different size. This helps to give the room a vibrancy and lift, especially if the surrounding tiles are a different color.
Another way of choosing the feature colour is to use a colour that has already been used throughout the rest of the house. If you have mostly warm tones then use warm tones for your feature wall. If you have cool tones then use greys, blues, white or black.
The cost-effective way to create a great impact….
To save money, you could use a body tile 300×300, 600×600 at a contrasting colour or texture. They will make a statement but are not as expensive as mosaics. A timber look tile will create maximum impact for minimum cost.

The high-end mosaic look
For a high end look – mosaic tiles are the go. These are a great investment and will offer a real sense of luxury to the space. They are more expensive to buy and install, but worth it to create the dream look that will add value to your home. Mosaic options are limitless – from marble, to glass, and even metallic.
The modern look
A popular modern choice for mosaic is choosing a different shape like herringbone, hexagon, subway and penny rounds.
